Error message: 403 Forbidden. Forbidden – User division is not within division scope (Exact Online)

Cause

The error message is caused by TriFact365, as an external application, having insufficient permissions (app permissions) in Exact Online. This issue usually occurs when the permissions of the Exact Online user who granted the app authorization differ from the permissions of the user who restored the Link.

When creating the Link between TriFact365 and Exact Online, you are asked to give TriFact365 permission to send data to Exact Online. This permission can be granted for:

• the current administration

• all future administrations.

A common cause of this error message is that the user who recently renewed the Link previously only granted permission for one specific administration, rather than for all future administrations.

As a result, the required permissions may be missing for certain administrations, which can lead to this error message.

Solution

The issue can be resolved by having the Link restored by:

• An Exact Online user who selected All current and future companies in the app authorisations.

• Or an Exact Online user who specifically granted permission for the relevant administration(s).

Steps

Follow the steps below to grant TriFact365 the required app authorisation in Exact Online.

1. Log in to Exact Online with the correct user account.

2. Select the administration where this issue occurs.

3. Click the administration in the top-left corner and go to Import/Export.

4. Go to Other → App permissions.

5. Select the TriFact365 app.

6. Click Manage Companies at the bottom right of the page.

7. Move the administration(s) to the right column using the arrows.

8. Click Save.
